Please join us for the next SoCal BI User Group, being held Thursday, September 2nd at our NEW VENUE!!!

We are pleased to announce the new location of the SoCal BI User Group. Starting September 2nd, the BI User Group will be held at the Microsoft Store located within The Shops at Mission Viejo. Please join us to kick off our new venue. This event will feature Microsoft speakers presenting on the Microsoft Data Warehousing Roadmap as well as latest Business Intelligence features in SharePoint 2010.

Discussion Topic: Microsoft Data Warehousing Roadmap

Microsoft has made huge investments in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. In this session, Ted Tasker from Microsoft will overview advances made in SQL Server 2008 R2 to support data warehousing. Learn the differences between SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, leveraging the FastTrack reference architecture, and Microsoft's upcoming release of Parallel Data Warehouse. FastTrack reference architecture is a guide to help customers build well balanced DW systems that maximize investments. Parallel Data Warehouse is a true MPP (Massive Parallel Processing) DW Appliance that leverages SQL Server across multiple servers to provide a highly scalable architecture.

Presenter’s BIO

Ted Tasker works for Microsoft as a Technology Solution Professional – Parallel Data Warehouse. Ted provides technical guidance and support in evaluation and implementation planning of SQL Server Data Warehouses for customers in Western U.S. He has been with Microsoft since 2008, but has worked with SQL Server for 16 years having started with SQL Server 4.21. Ted has a broad base of DB experience using Microsoft in high end OLTP and also in DW/BI; as a manager he has worked in development organizations, production support, and in enterprise security.
